This past weekend I got to photograph Baby Averi. She is so adorable! This session was special because her mom and I used to work together and hadn’t seen each other in about 5 years! That was way too long! We keep up with each other via the internet but it was so nice to see her again. I didn’t get to stay and visit because I had a cold and had to wear a mask during her session so I didn’t want to stay around and infect everyone =). Avery has 3 adorable siblings and they already love her so much and are so sweet to her. All of their kiddos are so cute and well-behaved. They were a joy to photograph! Mom and Dad were pros and so laid back.. you can tell they have done this a few times! =) Thank you for letting me come spend some time with you and baby Averi. Let’s not wait 5 years again! =)
This past weekend I got to try my hand at shooting a wedding. No, I am not doing weddings yet but I was the “second-shooter” for this wedding with Caleb Fleming. It was definitely a great learning experience for me since the venue had very little natural light and we had to use a lot of flash. It even convinced me to go get another speedlight to add to my arsenal =P. I can’t wait to shoot some more weddings with Caleb if he will have me back. It was a blast! I loved everything about it… the energy, the intensity, and all the love in the air! So, if you want to have me there as a photographer for your wedding, you need to hire Caleb and request that I be there too =P
Here are a few shots I got at the wedding!
Can you believe it was 31 degrees in Dallas this weekend? What is even more crazy it that I was out taking pictures in it! haha. I got to photograph a senior and it was such a nice change from all the kiddos I have been shooting lately. Don’t get me wrong, I love photographing children, but it is nice to have a subject that will stay in one spot. You can really flex your creative muscle! Whitney was such a trooper in the cold and she did not complain at all! I was all bundled up and I still wanted to complain about the cold! =). We had so much fun and she was up for anything! We hit a bunch of spots in Grapevine (my favorite place!). We climbed on trains, sat on tractors, and got down in the cotton fields all for pictures but it was so worth it! Thanks Whitney for letting me photograph you! You are so beautiful and a joy to photograph! As you can see this is a BIG sneak peek. I had so may favorites that it was hard to choose!
fun with off camera flash…
My very first newborn I ever photographed professionally just turned 3 months old! Time flies! She is such a cutie and I am going to get to photograph her a lot her first year. We had to do an indoor session because it was SO cold and I got to try out one of my new fabric backdrops! Her big sister is turning three this week and joined in for some pictures too. Aren’t they the cutest?!?
I have found that two years olds are definitely the most challenging age to photograph. They do not want to stop for a second! I sure get my workout with them but when I come away with good pictures it makes it all worth it. When I end up with some good family shots I am so happy! I recently got to photograph The Wood Family. Little Sydney had so much energy and she wasn’t scared of anything! She got right out of the car and held my hand so I knew we were going to be buddies =). Thanks so much for letting me spend the afternoon with your little sweetheart!
I have really lucked out with some awesome families this fall and this one was no exception! The weather was perfect for late November. Little Natalie had enough energy to light a light bulb but she is such a cutie! I had so much fun chasing her around! She had fun playing “see” with me and approving every picture via my LCD screen. =). Mom and dad are super nice and easy-going and made the session so enjoyable. Thanks for letting me photograph your family!
Oh my goodness, could this little guy get any cuter?? I couldn’t have asked for a better session with baby Brady. He was so sleepy and floppy, mom and dad were beautiful (Can you believe she just had a baby??), and Brady was happy even when he was awake! I am convinced he is the world’s best baby! This session was extra special for me too because Brady’s mom and I go way back! =) With the holidays approaching I just couldn’t resist putting him in a Santa hat =). Thanks for letting me come spend that day with your little boy. I know y’all will be great parents and I can’t wait for Tristan and Brady to play together!
This weekend I got to do a really special session with the Sievers Family! They are such a cute family and their little guy, Tate, is just adorable! And he was so cooperative! He had a good time “helping” me clean my lens with the Rocket Blaster and enjoyed a few lollipops =). Yellow balloons are very symbolic for their family. Sixteen months ago. they lost their youngest son, Nash, to an undiagnosed heart condition. On special days they release yellow balloons to celebrate his life. I was so honored that they wanted me to capture this moment for them and I hope that I did it justice. Thank you for letting me into your lives for the day and congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your next baby! I hope I get to photograph your family again in the future!
The Richards family was so fun! They have the cutest little boys and they were so well behaved! Their oldest son was quite the little model and everytime I turned around he was posing =). I knew it was going to be a good when little James jumped out of the car and gave me a hug right away! By the end of the shoot we were best buddies =)
